The Role of the Church and Society Regarding Sex Abuse and Misuse

In any society one lives; it plays a big role in shaping one's behaviour; what to do, how to do it or when? And therefore need for education.

The church has a great role in teaching both the young and mature on matters regarding sex issues.

Counselling by pastors to those intending to marry about sex play, original intention as God given gift and warning against extra marital sex.

Church should set up counselling centres / offices so that people are free to go and seek advice from experts regarding sexual marriage issues.

Youth can be educated in youth camps, clubs; call for discipline in these camps because not all who go to these clubs are upright.

Sex education films be introduced in churches so that people get proper balanced education regarding sex.

Gifted and knowledgeable members of the church can hold seminars and enhance sex education to help pastors, reverends etc.

Church leads should set examples so as to avoid the idea of I do what tell you and not what I do."

Church should hold positive attitude towards about sex according to the plan by God.

He created sex as a good thing to be enjoyed within marriage for enrichment of human life so that males and females complement (complete) each other (1 Cor 11: 11).

Parents should be included or taught how they ought to handle sex education at home to their children especially adolescents. This was well- handled in African tradition by aunts, uncles and elders.

Sex education should be taught in schools in both lower and higher levels/ institutions of leaving.

Misuse of leisure to be considered and safeguarded e.g. avoid excessive drinking, Trans night disco where immorality is prevalent.

Government should control drug abuse/ excessive drinking, encourage prostitutes to have projects.

Married people should not stay away from each other for long to avoid temptation.

Permissiveness should be checked.
