3:1-5. The Holy Spirit and the Jewish Law
Before Paul asks the Galatians a question about
their own experience, he asks them if they had been bewitched, using a word
indicating sorcery, to make them blind to the crucified Jesus Christ. He then
asks them if they received the power of the Holy Spirit because they had been
following the Jewish Law. The answer is an obvious 'No'. God gave them the
gifts of the Spirit, enabling miracles to be worked among them, because they
had believed the Good News of Jesus Christ.
