From this point onwards in the gospel we see Jesus concentrating on giving 'spiritual sight' to his twelve disciples, as he moved resolutely towards the final confrontation with the powers of evil displayed in his human opponents in Jerusalem. Mark is not much concerned with details of Jesus' journey to Jerusalem but much more with the events and teaching of that journey. The occasional place names indicate a slow journey southwards, after he had been to Caesarea Philippi.
